AT&T expects to get T-Mobile deal approved

When AT&T made an announcement of their decision about the acquiring of T-Mobile, there was no doubt that the company has been quite confident that they will get an approval of the deal from the government, even considering a growing opposition. AT&T Chief Executive Officer Randall Stephenson mentioned about the deal in a recent interview as well, stating that he believes that the merger is going to improve coverage and speed up the build-out of next-generation broadband networks. So to get the deal done, the companys CEO mentioned that he expects that his company will need to divest some markets. At the same time Verizon Wireless Chief Executive Officer Dan Mead answered that his carrier probably is interested in grabbing some of those divestitures, in accordance with The Wall Street Journal. Eventually, the AT&T exec responded that: This industry is anything but a duopoly, Stephenson said. The industry is intensely competitive now, and will be intensely competitive after the deal.
