Have you noticed that straight after it became evident about the AT&T/T-Mobile merger, Sprint has been quite noisy about its opposition to the deal. So, today it turns out that Sprint may have gotten a friend in New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman. Talking to Bloomberg, he mentions that he worries that a T-Mobile merger by AT&T could negatively influence on the number of choices available to users who are looking for a wireless carrier, specifically in more rural areas. Check out his statement down below: Affordable wireless service and technology, including smart phones and next generation handheld devices, are the bridge to the digital broadband future. We want to ensure all New Yorkers benefit from these important innovations that improve lives.
Despite the fact that Eric Schneiderman did not say that he is going to opposing the deal, it surely does not sound like he is planning to make things easier. So, the only thing we can do is to wait and follow the news. Stay tuned!
