The Desire S was unveiled at MWC 2011 in Barcelona. As we know, it is one of those phones that are designed for European and Asian users (it made its first steps in Europe, in the Chech Republic, more precisely), but since its packed with many awesome features, it attracted the U.S. carriers, too, so probably all S named handsets will be available in the U.S. as well.
Now the Desire S is available for pre-order via Vodafone UK.
The HTC Desire S will be shipped on April 8, and the carrier offers very attractive deals. The phone is available for free, but the data plans start at 30 per month, and you have to sign a two-year contract.
Vodafone UK always comes with interesting offers, and when a year ago it launched the original Desire in the UK, that deal was also very accessible. Anyway, Vodafone subscribers will be glad to have an Android 2.3-powered smartphone that sports a 3.7-inch S-LCD WVGA display, 5MP camera with 720p video recording functionality, VGA front-facing camera, 768MB of RAM and, of course, a 1GHz processor. The HTC Desire S comes with HTC Sense UI and supports HSPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Wi-Fi.
The Desire S is not the only smartphone from the S line, as the HTC Wildfire S and the Facebook centric ChaCha have already headed to Vodafone US.
At the begging of Spring we heard the device would hit the UK market before the end of March, and it happened. So I think it is worth mentioning that the popular European carriers always keep their promise, and its is very good.
