Apple has updated iBooks to support a number of new features including integrated AirPrint abilities for PDF documents and notes. Not only that, but they have added enhanced full color illustration capabilities to the mix.
Now you can read little Johnny a more exciting bedtime story, and afterwards print off the latest notes from todays staff meeting. Youve gotta love technology.
According to Apple, the following four features made the cut in iBooks 1.2
- Experience fully illustrated books, from childrens picture books to beautifully designed art books, available for download in the iBookstore.
- Organize your books and PDFs into personal Collections. Swipe left or right to jump between Collections.
- Print PDF documents and notes youve written in iBooks using AirPrint.
- iBooks now fits more words per page by automatically hyphenating text, available only on iOS 4.2 or later.
Thats a pretty nice update for an App that still has some catching up to do if it wants to compete with dedicated eBook readers, or even other App Store Apps.
iBooks can be downloaded for free from the App Store, and is compatible with the iPad as well.
