Mail app crashes routinely on iOS 4.2.1

After my iPad updated to iOS 4.2.1, I found that both Mail and Safari regularly crash back to the Home Screen. How can I fix this issue?First taking a reboot. If that is not working, you can restore from a backup or do a clean restore back to factory settings.
