This accessory is not supported by iPad

When I connected my iPad to the keyboard dock, it says "This accessory is not supported by iPad". I tried connecting usb cable to the dock and the keyboard is still not responding. Then I try reseting all options, un-plugged the keyboard and re-plugged it in again, it worked fine.This seem very strange.
