No sound in apps since iOS 4.2 update

There was no sound in all my apps since I had updated to iOS 4.2.1. Now my iPad media player has no sound. And I've tried a dozen apps all of which are silent.To un-mute your system and app sounds, just check the mute switch above the volume rocker. Sliding it all the way up, so that the little red dot is not being shown.
