iPad not charging, not connect to itunes

Yesterday when my battery of iPad is empty, I charged the battery with only 5%. Even when plug it into a mac to access itunes, none were connecting, charging or recognizing. I had tried all 3 USB ports and do not have another computer to try.To fix this issue, restarting both the devices and the computer corrects it.I had to completely uninstall iTunes and all the crap that goes along with it .
